Activities

WP2 lays the scientific and pedagogical foundations for the entire project. It explores how digital practices affect the well-being of students and teachers, identifying key challenges, needs, and opportunities for intervention.

Key actions include:

  • Conducting research and surveys across participating schools to assess students’ digital habits, emotional health, and stress levels.
  • Mapping existing initiatives and good practices in mindfulness and digital well-being at national and European levels.
  • Analysing data to understand the relationship between technology use, emotional balance, and learning outcomes.
  • Producing a Transnational Research Report summarising findings and policy implications.

This research phase ensures that all subsequent actions are evidence-based, relevant, and tailored to the real contexts of schools.

WP3 transforms research results into concrete educational tools that teachers and schools can use daily. It focuses on creativity, accessibility, and innovation.

Key outputs include:

  • The WISE-UP Handbook, a practical guide for teachers on integrating mindfulness into classroom practice and promoting digital well-being.
  • A set of learning modules and lesson plans combining mindfulness, emotional education, and responsible technology use.
  • The creation of a multilingual digital application for teachers and students, featuring guided mindfulness exercises, classroom practices, and self-reflection tools.
  • Pedagogical guidelines and training resources aligned with European education frameworks.

Through this WP, WISE-UP aims to provide user-friendly, inclusive, and adaptable tools that empower educators to cultivate mindful, balanced learning environments.

WP4 brings WISE-UP to life in schools through training programmes, classroom activities, and local pilot projects.

Key actions include:

  • Delivering training courses for teachers and school staff, combining theory, mindfulness practice, and digital awareness.
  • Organising student workshops (2–3 sessions per class) on digital habits, emotional awareness, and mindfulness.
  • Implementing a digital well-being questionnaire to evaluate the impact of technology on students’ emotional and social life.
  • Providing coaching and mentoring to teachers during classroom implementation.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of mindfulness and digital education practices on the school climate and individual well-being.

Through these activities, WISE-UP will empower schools to become active laboratories of well-being and digital awareness.

WP5 ensures that WISE-UP’s results are visible, shareable, and sustainable beyond the project’s lifetime. It focuses on communication, community building, and policy impact.

Key actions include:

  • Developing a project identity and online presence, including the official website, social media, and newsletters.
  • Organising national and transnational events, workshops, and multiplier conferences to share results and engage stakeholders.
  • Building local and European networks of schools and institutions committed to mindfulness and digital well-being.
  • Producing policy recommendations and position papers to support the integration of WISE-UP methodologies in education systems.
  • Ensuring open access to all materials and digital tools produced.
